What Buyers Want Most from Real Estate Agents

As agents, we think we know what buyers want most.  For the most part, our gut instinct is probably right.  The following chart shows a place that an enterprising agent could use to differentiate themselves from the competition.


Whether or not buyers realize it, they NEED to know what comparable homes sold for.  Finding a home IS critical, as are negotiations.  Where a real estate agent earns their keep is in both negotiations and analysis of the housing market.  How does a buyer know if the home they want to purchase is over priced with regards to the market?  With appraisers coming from all over God’s green earth to appraise the home your buyer’s want, it helps to be able to justify your purchase price with comparable properties.

    Todd, good article, I think you’ll find that as more and more agents embrace their own IDX or similar, that line will continue to “blur”….
